Needs: Rawk Girl needs talented music writers to contribute to our articles database and newsletter. Staff writers are people who can be regularly counted on to contribute articles to us including, but not limited to, women in rock profiles, interviews, CD and event reviews, news items, and general information about the music business. Not only will this position look awesome on your resume, you'll also get the chance to earn free and discounted merch, attend music events in your area, and receive free CDs in exchange for a written review.

If you can't give the time committment being a staff writer requies, then we still encourage you to submit freelance articles. Articles must run between 150-1200 words and somehow be relevent to women in music (specifically women in rock, punk, ska, or alternative). We encourage you to pitch articles to us before writing them by sending an e-mail but we also accept full articles.

Length: We prefer submissions to run under 1000 words.

Payment: Byline, bio, a link to your site if you have one. Staff writers will receive any merch sent our way from record labels or the bands we work with (may include posters, magnets, stickers, shirts, etc.) and if you do an interview or CD review you'll get the press kit for the artist your interviewing or a copy of the CD you're reviewing.
