Description: A quarterly literary review featuring poetry, stories, essays, reviews, and art.
Editor(s): Johanne LePage (Editor), Jeff McKay (Art Editor)
Guidelines URL: Click here for writer's guidelines information.
Address: P. O. Box 453
Newport, ME 04953
Rights: One-time rights. We will accept previously published work but let us know beforehand if the work has appeared somewhere else so we can give proper credit to the previous publication.
Needs: We publish mainly poetry but will consider anything thought-provoking and well-crafted, including essays, poetry reviews (of published collections), and short fiction as long as it is lofty (and very very short). As far as poetry, the editor has no particular preference, though it should be noted that if the poetry does rhyme, it should be part of a form and not simply greeting card verse or limericks. Free verse must be conceptually strong.
Length: seven pages or less in 12-point font
Art/Photo Needs: Black and white images only for the time being. We like striking images of any style, without venturing into the realm of filth. We prefer to receive art submissions via postal mail. Send with SASE and a written explanation of the work. Do not sent your only copy. Submissions will not be returned
Payment: We pay one contributor's copy and the occasional book or other miscellaneous free item.
How to Submit: Send writing to:
P. O. Box 453
Newport, ME 04953
or to our email. Direct art submissions to Jeff McKay.
Response Time: We typically respond within the week.
Tips for Writers: Be professional, write well, respect editorial decisions. Write because you love doing it.
Sample Copies/Subscription Information: Information will be available on our official website regarding obtaining copies once our first issue comes out.
